Following its release on the Nintendo Switch in March, get ready to vanquish spooky spectres in the most spectacular way possible as Indie games publisher Total Console and developer 7 Raven Studios’ today released its cartoon style puzzle-platformer Ghost Sweeper on Xbox One.
Set in a cartoon fantasy world, part inspired by Scooby-Doo and Army of Darkness, Ghost Sweeper thrust players into thwarting the army of the Dark Lord upon his unholy resurrection. Playing as the titular Ghost Sweepers, noble warriors armed with weapons that let them create and destroy blocks, as well as suck up any supernatural spirits, players must manipulate each stage’s architecture as they search for coins, keys, and other goodies while eliminating the ghostly threat and making their way to the exit. Ghost Sweeper hearkens back to the days of classic puzzle platformers like Solomon’s Key, with plenty of secrets to uncover and open-ended gameplay that lets players reshape a level as they see fit.
There are more than eight different worlds to navigate, from dark and dreary forests to the sinister Dark Lord’s lair, each filled with secrets to be discovered. Confront bloated ghosts, laughing pumpkins, rattling skeletons and other gruesome ghouls that haunt your path. You have the choice to Fight or Flight; either engage in combat or use cunning and speed to dash past your enemies unscathed.
Choose between different Ghost Sweepers each with its unique abilities. Scour around for secret stages and hidden treasure to unlock useful items in the shop and uncover bonus levels. Are you bright and brilliant enough to triumph over the Dark Lord... and potentially swip all his gold!?
